Service
BreadthMarket provides descriptive market-participation information through its website and plugin. The plugin offers a latest market overview, confirmed sector-breadth comparisons, and comparisons of confirmed breadth with stored SPY closing prices. It reads stored results; a query does not initiate market-data collection or guarantee a new observation.
Meaning of the indicators
Sector breadth measures the percentage of eligible securities above their inclusive 20-session simple moving average. Breadth Score adds the 11 sector percentages. Sector Balanced Breadth divides that score by 11 and weights sectors equally; Raw S&P 500 Breadth counts eligible securities equally. Our methodology describes eligibility and calculation details.
SPY comparisons use closing-price changes in USD and are not dividend-inclusive total returns. Comparing endpoint directions does not establish correlation, causation, or a forecast of future performance.
Availability and interpretation
Read observation dates, timestamps, confirmation status, and coverage information with each result. A latest available observation may be older than today. Intraday and provisional observations can change; confirmed observations can also be corrected when source information is revised. Service interruptions, delayed inputs, or incomplete records can make a result unavailable.
Historical comparison tools use confirmed breadth and preserve missing dates. Unknown coverage is not complete coverage. These tools do not replace missing confirmed observations with the website's separate approximate historical estimates. A comparison between two available endpoints does not establish a continuous trend throughout the requested period.
Research scope
The plugin supplies information for market research. It does not assess your personal financial circumstances, determine investment suitability, predict returns, or provide individualized investment recommendations. It cannot place orders, access brokerage accounts, manage a portfolio, or perform automated trading. You remain responsible for how you interpret the information and any decisions you make from it.
Use and support
Use the service within its published input limits. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with availability, or use the interface to obtain private data. Access to the service does not transfer ownership of the BreadthMarket brand or other content.
